We came for the Chinese Lights show in Boerner botanical gardens, which was fantastic. However, parking was a joke, plan to walk a mile. The crowds were so huge and lines so long that we shuffled through the whole thing b elbow to elbow with randoms. They allow strollers and wheelchairs, which made navigating even worse, as the grounds is not level and often not paved. That was on a Wednesday night; can't even imagine three chaos on a weekend. Recommend going after 8:30pm on a weeknight, if you want to avoid the masses. I'll need too revisit this park during the daytime, when there isn't an event going on; I hear it's nice.
China lights was great! The bussing situation was rough but was a pleasant walk in a safe area.
Uhm who doesn't love Whitnall Park? It is one of the biggest and most beautiful parks in our area! There are so many trails to walk on! There is a golf course, waterfall, Mountain Bike single track trail, botanical garden, disc golf, archery range and more! Today we went for a hike with our puppy and he loved it! Still needs some more training but it was fun! In the summer they always have a Sprecher Beer Garden and pig roasts on Sundays. You really have to come visit this park to truly enjoy it! Take my word for it it's awesome!
Nice place to explore. Fun trails to hike; it doesn't feel like you're so near the big city.
Whitnall Park is one of my favorite get aways. Between the park, golf course and Incredible Botanical Garden...I recommend it to many people as a great place to hang out or escape from the world.
